Building Awareness & Sensitization

Bhumika Women’s Collective works across 26 urban communities, 37 educational institutions, and 193 villages to promote gender equality, child rights, and violence prevention, reaching over 71,000 students and community members through awareness sessions and trainings. Regular community programs and workshops create safe spaces for women, adolescents, and youth to reflect on issues like gender discrimination,gender-based violence, menstrual and reproductive health, life skills, leadership qualities, support systems, rights, entitlements, laws and acts and substance abuse, while also introducing reliable support systems such as the 24×7 Bhumika Helpline, Women Helpline, Sakhi One Stop Centres, Legal Services Authority, Shelter Homes, etc.

Intensive trainings and collectives

Intensive trainings and collectives empower women, adolescents, and young people with leadership, solidarity, and life skills, while sensitization sessions with men foster positive masculinity and accountability. Since 2024–25, Bhumika has expanded its work to engage with female sex workers in Andhra Pradesh, advocating for rights and protection from harassment, and with transgender communities in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh through dialogue and training that address discrimination and co-create inclusive solutions. Together, these sustained efforts are building safer, more equitable communities rooted in awareness, collective action, and social justice.

Reaching thousands across schools, villages, and urban communities, Bhumika fosters awareness, dialogue, and collective action to prevent violence, promote equality, and empower women, youth, and marginalized groups. Through awareness sessions, trainings, and safe spaces, Bhumika engages women, adolescents, men, sex workers, and transgender communities to challenge patriarchal norms and create inclusive, gender-just communities.From classrooms to community halls, Bhumika’s awareness programs build knowledge, leadership, and solidarity, enabling people of all ages and backgrounds to address violence, claim rights, and shape safer futures.
