What do we do

Support Systems

Psycho Social Counselling through Helpline:

Our 24×7 toll-free helpline is the first service we launched to support women in distress. Experienced counsellors provide psycho-social counselling, referrals when required, and regular follow-ups. To ensure survivors can express themselves freely and reach us easily, WhatsApp support is also available when the helpline is busy.

Psycho Social Counselling through Support Centres

We provide counselling to all walk-in survivors, develop safety plans, and, when needed, counsel respondents. Survivors in prison receive counselling, family visits, and legal aid referrals. All cases are documented, followed up for three years, and practical support such as food or accompaniment to police stations is offered. At public health facilities, burn, acid attack, and electrocution survivors are supported with medicines, blood supplies, food, travel, and in some cases, livelihood assistance, with referrals to stakeholders for further care. This is an attempt to create an eco system where everyone takes responsibility in combating violence against women and children.

Capacity Building

We work to prevent violence against women and children by strengthening the capacities of key stakeholders. Regular trainings on gender, gender-based violence, sexual harassment, and related issues are conducted with police, judiciary, prison inmates, educational institutions, communities in slums and tribal villages, transgender community, government departments, NGOs, public sector units, and corporates. These sessions ensure participants are updated on critical information, laws, and support systems.

Referral Services

Based on survivors’ needs, we connect them to supportive stakeholder organizations. Referrals include police stations, Sakhi One Stop Centres, legal aid, shelters, livelihood and employment opportunities, skill training, relocation, and specialized services such as artificial limb support for burn or electrocution survivors. Our strong collaboration with government and NGOs ensures comprehensive assistance and long-term rehabilitation.
