Public Violence

Bhumika Women’s Collective has collaborated with SHE Teams of the Telangana State Police from 2016 to curb eve-teasing and public harassment, counseling nearly 4,000 offenders under the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate (earlier Cyberabad also). Offenders, counseled in the presence of family members, are sensitized on the psychological and social impact of harassment, made aware of legal consequences, and encouraged to adopt positive attitudes while focusing on education, career, and personal growth. By engaging both offenders and their families, Bhumika seeks to prevent repeat offenses and foster a culture of accountability, respect, and dignity for women and girls and developing gender equality from their families.
